The customer activity cycle canvas is a template to capture the series of steps (activities) a customer goes through as part of his work. The objective of a customer activity cycle is to provide insight into the full process of a customer. In the context of engineering, this could be from the earliest envisioning of a new product, all the way to delivery and after-care. A customer activity cycle creates a shared view for everything involved in the stages of the process, the activities in these stages, and possible lock-ons. Creating a customer activity cycle in a visual way makes it:

  • Easier to digest
  • Easier to drill down
  • Easier to have a shared view/common understanding
